The second biennial conference of the International Mind, Brain, and Education Society will be held May 28–30, 2009, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The conference provides a forum to explore exciting new advances in the emerging field of Mind, Brain, and Education. In the spirit of encouraging and supporting collaborative efforts among cognitive scientists, developmental scientists, neuroscientists, and educators, the IMBES conferences create a promising environment in which committed researchers and educators together can offer new insights into behavior and the brain that can inform both educational practice and new scientific investigations.

The NTS asks stakeholders what standardized testing is doing for teachers and students in the United States—and what they think testing ought to do for teachers and students. The official launch event will take place on Thursday, May 28th, just before the IMBES conference. To learn more, see the program or visit the NTS site.
The Sheraton Society Hill Hotel is ideally located for walking “out the front door” to an abundance of activities. Philadelphia, best known as the city of brotherly love and the birthplace of American democracy, offers not only exploration of its rich history on America’s most historic square mile (just four blocks from the conference hotel) and discovery of its other spectacular sights and attractions, but also museums, shopping, restaurants, and entertainment – all in one of the most walkable cities in the U.S. You will want to come early and stay late.
The discounted single/double room rate for IMBES participants at the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel is $165. Roommate arrangements (two participants = $82.50 per person per night), coordinated through the IMBES Business Office, may be requested on your registration form. Reservations may be made online until May 7. After that date, reservations may be made only by telephone directly to the Sheraton Society Hill at 215-238-6000. Ask for reservations and mention that you will be participating in the IMBES conference to get the conference rate of $165 single or double. If rooms are available, this will be the IMBES rate up until the conference begins.
The conference registration fee is $195 for current members of IMBES ($100 for students). Information about conference registration can be found under the related menu items on the right.
Inquiries from publishers about the possibility of exhibiting at the IMBES conference should be directed to Joanne Fetzner at the IMBES Business Office.
