Conference Description:

The International Mind Brain Education Society will hold its third biennial meeting June 2-4 at the Catamaran Hotel in San Diego. Plenary speakers include Bruce McCandliss, Helen Neville, Elsbeth Stern, and Hal Pashler. We also invite submissions of both posters and spoken sessions (symposia, discussion sessions or other formats that you might suggest). For posters, please submit title, author, affiliation and contact information along with an abstract of no more than 500 words. For symposia and other spoken formats, please submit the same information for each component of the session, grouped in one document with a 100-word integrative summary at the beginning and one primary correspondent. IMBES encourages presentation both of scientific evidence that informs education and of experience with educational practice based on evidence-based curricula and instruction. Submissions can be made through the IMBES website through April 1, 2011. Decisions regarding submissions will be sent by April 17, 2011, in time to meet the Early Bird registration deadline of April 22, 2011. Please e-mail conference@imbes.org with any questions.

Optional Short Course:

On Thursday, June, an optional short course will be offered from 3:00–5:00 p.m.

Introduction to the Brain and Neurosciences for Educators and Clinicians, by Mary Helen Immordino-Yang, University of Southern California. This workshop is designed to help participants become informed and critical consumers of brain research as it is portrayed both in technical reports and in the popular press. This is a dynamic and popular workshop with limited space, so register early (there is an extra fee for this workshop on the on-line registration form).

Refund Policy: A handling fee of $50 will be deducted from refunds for cancellations that are received by email to conference@imbes.org by May 20, 2011, 5pm CST. No refunds will be issued after that date.
